I became involved
with the
PCG primarily because a friend of mine began
pointing out many of the inconsistencies of the Tkach
leaderships' pronouncements in the late 1980's. I
eventually left the
WCG because of the changes. I have
some things to say about what I've read concerning the PCG
and Flurry's greedy henchmen.
I originally was very excited by what Gerald Flurry was saying
and writing (so excited that I read
Malachi's Message
seven times so that I could digest it completely!). Not
once, in all that reading, did I see the parts about, "If
you don't become a member of the PCG, you won't have
salvation" (in my words, since I have thrown all that
trash away), as well as many other self-serving blatant
lies; i. e., just about all of the things I have read about Craig
and Colleen Winters and Jeff and Stephanie Greaser, Dennis
Leap, Tim Thompson, Wayne Turgeon (he once told me that
it did not matter if Gerald Flurry was preaching outright
heresy, he would still follow him), and many others of the
"headquarters Ministry" and "Regional Ministry" and
Deacons (i.e. the "Covenant Brotherhood" to quote a
Flurry sermon). I was well acquainted with many of these
people and their wives on a first-name basis (my first
name of course, because I wasn't one of the "Covenant
Brotherhood," but I did a lot of things with PCG and
"served" a lot).
Craig Winters is just as he has been
described, an overbearing control freak--so overbearing in
fact, that not only does he spank his wife and berate and
bully her in public, but his wife once confided to my wife
that he even goes shopping with her to pick out her
clothes!
I had been in "trouble" with
Craig Winters ever since he
took over from
Marvin Campbell (I can't imagine why, since
all I asked him to do was to talk to his sons about
bullying a retarded boy in the congregation), that he
eventually removed me from the sermonette givers' list
even though I had graduated from Spokesman Club and
Graduate Club. I'm not sure I have seen anything on your
pages about Craig Winters or Jeff Greaser that is untrue, and I have
read all that I could find. When I asked some very pointed
questions to Winters about my noticing some huge glaring
outrageous statements that had been made in MM [
Malachi's
Message], he got very angry with me. He said I needed
to "prove MM," not criticize it. When I asked, if it was
indeed "revelation from God," why was it now in it's 7th
revision, and it wasn't just updates, since I had earlier
versions to make comparisons, he became livid. I thought
he was going to have an apoplexy. I also pointed out that
Flurry had accused God of being a bad planner and making a
mistake and a failure; i.e. God had a Plan A and when that
failed he had to devise a Plan B (God's Family
Government). So God's a Failure, because He didn't know
how to make a REAL plan, according to Flurry.
That's when Winters decided to teach Greaser how to
intimidate the common peons and brought the "local
minister" in on the situation. I had a "government
problem" so much so, that both
Craig Winters and
Jeff Greaser came to my house and both threatened me and
my family. I told them that if they didn't get the hell
out I would throw them out, and when they didn't move fast
enough I stood up to do just as I had threatened, and when
they saw my son coming out of his bedroom to give me a
hand, they couldn't beat feet fast enough! I never went
back. The funny thing about all of this is that another
friend had been talking me for a couple of years about all
of the doctrinal changes that were being made by the
Flurry's. This man and his family are still in the PCG,
and will no longer communicate with me or my family.
I recently found out that Jeff Greaser (PCG minister in
Phoenix, Arizona) disfellowshipped his wife of many years,
Stephanie, then divorced her and married another woman in
the church, Kelly, with whom he was counselling because
she had an "unconverted mate." I'm told that this is
becoming commonplace, divorce an unconverted mate, or
disfellowshipped mate. I would like to see a section for
those who have actual first-hand knowledge of ministry,
etc., in the PCG who are doing this sort of
"wife-swapping." (What else can you call it when a man
divorces the "wife of his youth" and marries a newer,
younger woman?) I have heard statements from people
inside PCG that wives/husbands are actually encouraged to
rid themselves of unconverted or disfellowshipped mates.
When I left PCG, the first thing Winters did was to tell
my wife she should
consider divorcing me. She then left
too! We made a vow before God, when we were married, that
we would be married "until death do us part," and no
arrogant jackass is going to cause us to break those vows!
I read the
comment
about Mark Nash, and I just thought I would add this:
Mark Nash received full pay as a minister and office
manager while he
served his time in prison. Also, Tim Thompson was not the nice guy he was
portrayed. When one of the girls (a sophomore, I believe)
was having a small get-together at her dorm room one
night, Tim, unaware of the party, let himself into the
room with his own key! Unable to explain his presence, he
backed out of the room and left. The girl was inexplicably
expelled and nothing was said publicly, but he died "in
the faith" later that year.
To those who want to save your family and friends from
this destructive bunch of money-grubbers ----- READ
Malachi's Message
and highlight all of the errors and inaccuracies, as well
as
God's Family Government (if it's still available).
Also, read the info at:
The Plain Truth About
Malachi's Message and That Prophet, which points
out all of those blatant statements and errors.
Don't just
take someone's word for it, read it yourself, so you can
discuss it intelligently with that family member or
friend.
