Abused PCG Family Publically Humiliated and Marked
| Recently, I've learned of some
people who've been abused by the PCG. What was a personal matter between
them and Gerald Flurry turned into a public humiliation and they were
kicked out. The husband couldn't go along with a certain doctrine and respectfully asked Wayne Turgeon for scriptural proof for years. None was given, just told that he should "follow GF's lead." This he couldn't do because of because of conscience sake. After years of discussion, it culminated in a meeting at GF's home with the couple and the Turgeons. GF told the couple that the way the doctrine was being taught was a "judgment" and if they weren't so self-righteous they could see it. Then apparently the shouting began. Wayne T. kept silent while GF shouted at the man for setting a bad example in his church area, to his family and was, personally, a "disappointment" to Gerald Flurry. A couple years prior, the wife had given GF a report of something she had witnessed years ago in Pasadena. He brought that up saying that he "didn't believe it for a minute," that it was a "figment of her imagination" and she should "just forget it!" Since the couple didn't argue, GF assessed that they "had a good attitude" and let them go. A few weeks later, Wayne Turgeon told the man that he was suspicious that he was going to poison the congregation and lead the sheep astray. The man assured him that it wasn't going to happen. But, the suspicion and pressure continued on this couple. A simple mistake a few months later was blown out of proportion. Wayne and the new local minister came charging into the area with a threat of disfellowshipping and even marking. A simple apology was offered by this distraught couple and Wayne backed down. Several months afterwards, the man turned in his follow up conclusion to his understanding on the doctrine. He said he hadn't changed his mind and would like to continue living his life privately with his views kept to himself. I was told that he included a sentence of caution at the end that he thought Gerald Flurry may be bringing a curse on the PCG ministry for preaching a doctrine that can't be backed up in Scripture. Almost hours after that, Wayne Turgeon called to say that the man and his whole family were suspended for that statement. Somehow Wayne changed his mind about the wife and let her stay in, with the understanding that she was being watched. The next Sabbath, Wayne Turgeon came to their church area and disclosed the full details of why the man wasn't attending anymore. After the feast, Wayne started provoking the wife by forcing her to admit whether or not she had "cut off" a certain disfellowshipped person. When she resisted him and wouldn't give him what he demanded, she was told to "stay home until further notice." That week, the two teens decided to ask why they were put out. Surprisingly, Wayne allowed them to return! Was this an attempt to put a wedge in the family? Many have experienced Wayne Turgeon's dominance by being unbalanced by his emotional entrapments. The mother of this family decided she couldn't take anymore and told Wayne she didn't want to return to the PCG. The family made a trip to Edmond in December to let the teens go to church and see their friends. Instead of staying in a hotel, the parents decided to ask the suspended couple if they could stay at their home. The teens took the car and stayed with a PCG family. Saturday morning Wayne spotted the teens getting ready to go on an outing with some students. He quickly intercepted the older one, drove him over to Gerald Flurry's house and interrogated him. When they found out the parents were at the suspended people's house, he told the boy that he couldn't go to church that day. He wasn't "suspended," he just couldn't attend anymore until he moved out of the parents house. Wayne drove him back to where the younger sister was waiting and frightened. Wayne got her into his vehicle and told her that her parents were with "the enemy" and that their eternal lives were hanging in the balance. She told him that was all adult stuff and she didn't want to get involved, just wanted to go to church. He said the only way she could was if she left home. She reminded him that she was too young and he suggested that she move in with her older brother when he moves out. He told her that she needed to get away from the bad influence at home. She asked if they couldn't just to church that day. He said no, basically because the parents would try to read her sermon notes. A week later, an announcement was made at Edmond that the parents were "marked" and the children were too. This was done without warning to the family or being told why. The following week the teens were at work and learned about the marking when a PCG person told them the announcement had been made locally. The teens and the father asked Wayne if it was true and why. He didn't give a reason, just said GF decreed it and to not write him anymore. Soon the teens heard that the three PCG members who worked with them were told they had to quit their jobs. The father of this family wrote Wayne and told him that word was out in management about "PCG foolishness" and the church was getting a bad name. The next day the local minister told the members they didn't have to quit their jobs. This was a sick action by a so called "minister of God." We also know of another teen, who was 16 years old, who was told at PYC that she shouldn't return to her parent's house since the parents had left the PCG while she was at camp. PCG even said they would "help her." We thought PCG was all about family, but we keep seeing people who've been pressured to ignore family, avoid family, separate or divorce; only because those people don't attend PCG. It doesn't matter if they aren't causing trouble or that they are pleased to dwell with the mate! We all are aware that whenever a marking is announced they use the Scripture in Romans 16:17 about avoiding the person and that the PCG doesn't wish them any ill-will. We heard that Wayne Turgeon recently gave a sermon in the home area of the family that was marked and he kept using them as an example of people "who are deceived." That sounds like gossip and ill will to us! By
