I read your page -- I was not
surprised. We were in
WWCG for quite awhile. Then we dropped out. Like
Mike I was never baptized but had felt
it was my only hope in the world we live in today. I wanted to be
in the "true church"
also.
We read Flurry's magazines [The Philadelphia Trumpet] -- and I thought they were right. At a
time in my life that I lost my job after many years. I was devastated. I called a
minister in PCG and he was very curt -- No loving kindness! But he
did talk to me. We sent tithes to them also, yet not attending.
However, I could not attend -- as I smoked! But I took
it that it was just because I better get my act together. Sure, I know
smoking is bad. But what is worse? A lying minister or smoking? Still
this puzzled me! I prayed a lot about this! Then I asked the
minister if I quit smoking, go to the church and repent, can I be
baptized? He said I would have to wait 6 months!!! I
questioned that? Well, one night we got out HWA's book on Baptism. In that book it said you should be baptized
immediately. Even in the Bible baptism was shown to be right away!!!
Something in my mind just kept telling me PCG was wrong! I had a very
scary feeling about PCG. A friend of ours attended there and she said she
could not tell what they discussed in services! I was finding many
errors in PCG, as well as WWCG.
We never attended PCG and later
heard a whole family committed suicide. A family in PCG--a mother
a father and their young children. When we told our friend about how bad
we felt about that family, she had no remorse.
We almost got into something else--"The Postponements."
They are wrong too, as far as we see! We still believe in God, but
will never join another church. Church organizations are wrong! We studied so much in the last several
months it was unbelievable.
We are free now!
