Philadelphia Church of God
 Disfellowshipped Me For Not Tithing

I was a former member of the Philadelphia Church of God, but last May 2002 I was disfellowshipped because I wasn't tithing. I was a member of that "church" for 10 years, or since 1992, and after being blind for so long our great God opened my eyes to the real truth, The Bible.

The late Herbert Armstrong always taught that we had to give 10% of our gross income to the church and another 10% to go to the feast , but when you look in the Bible what do we see? We can see that Jesus NEVER talked about getting our money. Of course, I do know that a person can give some money if he wants, but it must be willingly as Paul told us in 1 Cor. 16, verse 2 and in 2 Cor. 9, verse 7.

All those "churches" that ask for tithes are all in there for money, not for the people. And in Heb. 7, verses 11 to 28, we can clearly see that the Levitical priesthood was changed, so tithes are not mandatory now, for churches to get rich with the poor people. I also do know that Paul had told us in 1 Cor. 9, verse 13 and 14 that a minister could live off the gospel, but some take also advantage of this. They should follow Paul in verse 15 of the same chapter who works for his money like all of us.

I hope this story can help some people that are caught as I was, in all those money-grabbing churches that become rich with the Word of the living God .

May God richly bless you for your help to all the blind people out there caught as I was, in a sect.
