Crazy Response From RCG:

I came across your website and just had to get this experience published. I have a daughter who is in her early thirties who has suffered with mental health issues for most of her life. About 9 years ago, I started exploring Restored Church of God‘s website & watching David C. Pack videos.
I tried contacting David Pack to get prayer and/or a healing cloth for my daughter. I was not able to speak to Pack but they put me in touch with one of his ministers in the Chicago region. I don’t remember his name. I spoke to this minister on the phone 2 or 3 times but also emailed with him several times, mostly about my daughter’s need for healing. After a month or so, he said he would have to speak with David Pack about getting an anointed cloth sent out to me for my daughter.
About 2 weeks later, I received an email from this local minister. I was informed that he had spoken with David Pack & his colleagues (or whatever they are) from headquarters in Wadsworth, Ohio regarding my daughter’s mental health issues and need for healing. The email said that David Pack instructed him to email me and inform me that God does not get involved with helping “mentally ill” people and therefore they would NOT be sending me an anointed cloth. After that email, I never heard from him again. That response sounded crazy to me. Where on earth did that come from? Rhetorical question, of course! –Impacted by RCG

In Response to the January 1, 2026 Letter:

In regard to the person who wrote the January 1 letter requesting healing [for her daughter] from the RCG about 9 years ago, I have some comments.
I was under the particular minister at that time who was the Chicago pastor. My guess, as since I left several years ago and cannot recall which minister it was 9-10 years ago, is that it was either Jaco Viljoen or Andre Rouzan. The latter has since left RCG, I don’t know about Viljoen. Both men were good ministers, and I fully believe they wanted to help the person’s daughter. Unfortunately, the tyrant David Pack and his henchman have no love and no Christian character that he (Pack) and ilk said no. I knew of a minister who did allow things like that in his pastorate, even if friends of a member. Nice man. Not all ministers in RCG are awful people. The two mentioned above were not.
I am sorry that this person was refused and received zero help. More like a punch in the gut from legalistic, cold-hearted deceivers. The RCG cult gives a stink to the name of Jesus Christ to people like the one who wrote the letter. RCG and PCG are the most extreme Armstrongist cults. I believe the other groups probably would’ve helped the person as well for the daughter to be anointed. There is a spectrum of the Armstrong cults in their looseness to extremeness. My definition of PCG is “philadelphia cult of gerald,” and RCG is “restored cult of greed.” –Former member of RCG

The Offshoots Will Struggle to Recruit New Members:

I have always found that your site has useful info about W.C.G. and other offshoots. I have scanned a co-worker letter from Gerald Weston. He is complaining that the response for a campaign in Kansas City was much lower than in the past. With websites like yours I think all the offshoots will struggle to recruit new members. I Believe the WCG Was a Tool of the FBI:

Hi. My name is [removed]. I am almost 55. I attended the Meriden, CT WCG in the 1980’s. I was driven by Ms. Mary E. Moon (a nice elderly lady from New London, CT) to the cult when I was about 13. I got interested due to the WCG TV show. I believe it was a few months after Herbert Armstrong died [on January 16, 1986] when I started attending in 1986. Larry Wooldridge was the minister and then I think [Ken] Peterson took over. I left after a year or two. Then had a suicide attempt at about age 19. Then at about age 21 I briefly attended for maybe a few months in Tucson, AZ (got baptized) but left. I was there the year Joseph W. Tkach had a major announcement on a video to the WCG [January 10, 1995].
I believe I have discovered an important connection to this cult and the FBI. During the Waco siege [led by David Koresh], James D. Tabor was the FBI “volunteer” who spoke to Koresh during the siege. Tabor is the son of Elgie Lincoln Tabor. Elgie I believe was married or related to Helen Parsons (she was married at one point to Jack Parsons who was mentored by Aleister Crowley). Her sister, Sara Northrup, married L. Ron Hubbard, and they started Scientology. James Tabor is big in with United Israel World Union. James, related to Olga, was a member of WCG in Pasadena. Tabor was mentored by the U.N. correspondent David Horowitz who was mentored by the false Jewish Messiah, Moshe Guibbory.
If anyone wants to research this further the internet tries to obscure Tabor’s relation to the wife of Jack Parsons, the occultist co-founder of JPL [Jet Propulsion Laboratory] and also Tabor’s relation to Sara. Parsons and Hubbard were trying to bring in a female moon child entity. WCG helped fund the movie Paper Moon which has Tatum O’Neil on the cover as a child sitting on a crescent moon. WCG did digs in Jerusalem and [Gerald] Flurry does too.
I just wanted to let you all know that I believe from my research that the WCG is a tool of the FBI and at the higher level I believe massive occult and MK Ultra probably were going on. I have no memories of being abused in the WCG and Mrs. Moon was a sweet lady but i feel people need to understand this Tabor connection. –[name withheld]

I’ve been looking over theology and one friend told me I’m going to hell because I didn’t go to church on Saturdays. I sent a message back to him ” What are you a 7th day Adventist!?”
He told me “no” and sent me a video of his leader Fred Coulter. I’ve been checking Pastor White’s debates on trying to find anything on this dude, but nothing popped up. Then I started asking Ligonier and other reformed churches that I know of for anything.
I’m on break at work and your site popped up. I’ve been learning from AGTV the law vs. gospel and something the dude said just didn’t make sense.

Membership Attendance Has Always Been Manipulated:

Membership attendance has always been manipulated. Years ago when I was in WCG, I would help count attendance in the local congregation. We were always told to count the elderly who were in nursing homes or just not able to attend any longer. The reason was they would be at services if they could.
On another note, by counting the churches [i.e., “fellowships”] on the GCI web page it appears there are only 73 churches in the United States. Forty one are listed as small groups with fewer than twenty five that attend regularly. I don’t understand what keeps them going. –B. B.

“Useful Idiot” Article:

In the March-April 2026 Tomorrows World magazine Gerald Weston [LCG] wrote an article with the title USEFUL IDIOT. That perfectly describes me as I gave a lot money to WCG in Australia.
So what do they do with all that money? They buy real estate. A large property in Blackheath N.S.W. was purchased to build a tabernacle for the F.O.T. so everyone in Australia could attend there.
I remember old time members telling me what a cold, damp, foggy place it was. It is located on top of a mountain range (3500 feet). In the 1960s WCG grew a lot and the building was too small so four other feast sites were declared. That was in the early seventies so they kept the Blackheath site open for few years after that but most members preferred to go to warmer sites.
In the southern hemisphere the F.O.T. is in early spring and can be still very cold and damp in Blackheath. In the end that feast site was sold; it was a huge mistake purchasing that property.
So where did the money go to? Most likely to purchase more real estate to build the head office in Australia. Years later that property was sold so the cycle repeats over and over.
So the moral of this story is the offshoots will do the same thing. Do not give money to the offshoots from the WCG. –B. S.
Comment: Anyone can be deceived into these controlling Armstrong groups as they (the leaders) make use of sophisticated thought reform techniques, especially fear and guilt. To be unknowingly deceived doesn’t make anyone an “idiot.” We are much wiser now.
Minister Told My Mother He Would Have to Ask God to Kill Her:

In 1969 a minister came to my house where my mother who was a member was staying. She told him she had decided she would not be attending “church” anymore. In front of me (I was a non member) and the assistant minister he said, “Then I will have to ask God to kill you.”
He also told her that since she had had a hysterectomy she would have to fast longer than other people. He said a period was how women’s bodies got rid of toxins. I wondered how women who had gone through menopause and how men got rid of toxins. –J. S. B. (Former member of WCG)

Why I Am Stepping Completely Out of Living Church of God:

I do not fear the doctrines of men.
For years, I believed leaving mainstream Christianity meant I had escaped “Babylon.” But inside the Living Church of God, I found the exact same spirit wearing a different mask.
Instead of pure biblical truth, I found heavy-handed lordship, failed prophetic fear-mongering, and a corporate machine making merchandise of the brethren. LCG indoctrinates members to believe leaving their specific roster means losing your salvation. They use spiritual abuse to replace the fear of God with the fear of men.
But I am not a robot. I am a servant of God seeking His truth above man’s version!
Christ promised in John 10:28 that “NO MAN” can pluck us from His hand. Paul made it undeniable in Romans 14:4: “To his own master he standeth or falleth.”
The command to “come out of her” (Revelation 18:4) is not a call to trade one corrupt, 501(c)(3) hierarchy for another. Babylon is the Living Church of God and any institution elevating human control over the unadulterated Word [of God].

WCG Was a Preposterous Disaster for Our Family:

My dad got involved with and joined WCG in the late 1960’s, when I was 10.
I attended (“dragged along”) until 1972, when I finished high school.
WCG was a preposterous disaster for our family, but I got so far away from it that I managed to have a very good life. I realized then that other kids that were in those services, who absorbed more of the poison, had it much worse.
I saw HWA and GTA speak several times, having just arrived on their private jets, in really nice suits. My impression at the time was that HWA was clinically insane and GTA was just a grifter. WCG should have never existed. –Former survivor of WCG
LCG’s Teachings Are Persuasive:

A friend I know follows the LCG teachings, keeping the Sabbath, feast days, kosher diet, etc., but does not attend their services. We both attended WCG and then were baptized in the PCG, leaving PCG years ago. This person receives the Tomorrow’s World magazine and follows their website sermons, etc. I do not have anything to do with the teachings of the LCG as I know how persuasive their teachings can be. But I think it’s only a matter of time before my friend requests a visit from a LCG minister.
I cannot understand how there are not more people contacting your website regarding the LCG. The members must be convinced they are following the “One true church.”

Comment: Yes, members believe they are following the “one true church” and both they and potential members have been influenced and held by fear. It’s all done through thought reform. It is important for anyone to give themselves permission to research into what LCG is all about.
