I wish that I could take with me
All the friends I’ve ever known
And the first that I would choose
Would be my brethren, every one
All the ones my life has touched
And those that have touched mine
And down the meadow we would walk
The peace would be supreme
The next ones I would take would be
All the others that I know
Just to walk with them side by side
And to feel such togetherness
The sun’s so warm, the place so quiet
The grass and flowers beneath our feet
The love between us is so great
The understanding how complete
For all the evils of life have been
Completely swept away
No more can they ever touch us
The pain, the grief, never more
We walk peacefully side by side
Our souls and hearts touching one
I feel the meaning of the words,
“The greatest of these is love.”

“The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.” ~Isaiah 14:7

Rolling Fields
Oh, for a place of rolling fields
Covered with carpets of green
With yellow flowers here and there
And bending in the breeze
Where we could walk and talk and pause
Beneath some shady tree
To gaze at all the beauty there
And see what we could see
Or to stroll there in the sunshine
With it peaceful all around
And not a glimpse of anyone
No city sights nor sounds
And as we left these lovely fields
Took the dusty path to home
We knew that soon another day
Would find us there to roam

There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer
No door that enough love will not open,
No gulf that enough love will not bridge,
No wall that enough love will not throw down,
No sin that enough love will not redeem…
It makes no difference how deeply seated the trouble
How hopeless the outlook,
How muddled the tangle
How great the mistake,
A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all…
If we could only love enough,
We would be the richest on earth
