(now known as Philadelphia Church of God SEP)
PYC is the youth camp of Philadelphia Church of God. Patterned after Herbert Armstrong’s Summer Educational Program (SEP.), it was structured in military fashion with control and manipulation. While the camp is purported to “build godly character,” the techniques used are seen as emotionally, physically, spiritually and psychologically abusive and aimed at molding the teens into becoming “obedient, passive members” of the PCG.
PYC is located in Edmond, Oklahoma, but there are also camps in Australia and the Philippines.
Update 2021: The name of PCG’s camp is now known as Philadelphia Summer Educational Program or SEP.
