Herbert W. Armstrong went down the same road Gerald Flurry is going. Treasures!! It’s on the Internet for all the world to read and with proof to back it up. How can he walk away from the truth when he printed some of it?

Gerald Flurry is a self-appointed “Prophet” who has been spending hard earned and faithfully-given offerings and resources on expensive trinkets for his ego. And what is it in the evidently mindless and uncritically thinking followers that allows such abuse? Is it that he has managed to fine filter out of WCG that base element of people who just don’t care how Flurry uses their resources once given and this creates a jackpot for Flurry? Are these the personality types that simply can see no further and speak up no louder than to say “ok” to the imperative to Pray-Obey-Pay and Stay? Do they ever get challenged BEFORE they bring the house down on the faithful? Apparently not.

Guess whose bottomless wallet has been making an appearance in Pasadena? Flurry has been buying up big at the Moran auction of Herbert Armstrong goodies. Here’s what various items pulled in–including a 100K+ spree. Note: all prices quoted below have an additional 15% auction fee added on to selling price plus any additional shipping.

Steinway 9′ Concert Grand 1971 $52,500.00 bought by Gerald Flurry. Auditorium Lobby Baccarat Candelabra (2) $55,000.00 bought by Gerald Flurry.

What in GOD’s world did Flurry have on his mind when he spent all of that amount of “God’s tithes” on junk, plus he didn’t say anything about the 15% auction fee: $16125.00 and shipping. Will he ever let the tithers know?

I think it’s time for Flurry to go to his prayer closet and pray about the road he is going down. A lot of people could use the tithe money that is given to “GOD” and, instead, Flurry is blowing it for earthly things. Those in PCG (Philadelphia Church of God) could use it for their children or grandchildren or starving children. How much of “GOD’s tithes” did he spend on himself and the gang that’s afraid to buck him? He says they didn’t say a word when he asked how much should we bid. How much did it cost to eat in the GOLDEN restaurant? And how about the hotel? Why doesn’t he tell us what the whole trip is going to cost? Soon more are going to wake up and leave. Flurry doesn’t need to try the few Bible verses he likes to use. They don’t fit God’s Word. If he thinks the end is near, why is he building all this earthly stuff and blowing “God’s tithes” in the wind? Why doesn’t he furnish the members the TOTAL COST and no beating around the bush! I come up with $123,000.00 + shipping + hotel + travel expense, eats and drinks. Is that out of “God’s tithes,” too?? Plus, add the table and freight from over across the water.

Look at Matthew 6: 19-21 (TREASURES):

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Matthew 7: 15-20:

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”

Flurry also made a deal with “Laodiceans” (WCG) to purchase all of the Herbert Armstrong literature that he says was won in the court case. Not so! He bought it from what he says is “Satan’s church.” (WCG) What about the MISUSE of tithes? Is it okay for Flurry to spend as he pleases, but not okay for members to do the same?

Why does Flurry need all of this wasted material things–buildings, land, Herbert Armstrong’s prayer rock, expensive houses, items from the WCG auction. Did God’s prophets even have a house? Where did Jesus live?? Read Matthew 8:20.

PCG had a sermon this past Sabbath where members were told, “Don’t bring 2nd tithes back home from the Feast.” It looks like Flurry is going to ask for all excess 2nd tithes at the Feast this year to build his NEW Auditorium in Edmond, Oklahoma.

By “David King” [name changed] (former PCG member)

NOTE: David King also wrote the 2010 letter: “Our Life is So Good After Leaving PCG.”

Update: This Armstrong Auditorium (“House for God”) was finished in July 2010 and said to cost $25 million. It was dedicated to Herbert W. Armstrong. In his June 6, 2009 sermon Gerald Flurry boasted that this would be the last and only House built and God “would dwell there forever.”
